Construction Project Manager - Bridge Construction (m/f/d)

On behalf of our client, a company operating in the German construction market, we are looking for an experienced Construction Project Manager. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing construction projects throughout their entire lifecycle - from tendering and planning through to execution, financial settlement, and project closeout.

Requirements

  • University degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Engineering, or a related field

  • Proven experience in independently managing construction projects, including financial settlements and project closeout

  • Experience in bridge construction, particularly projects involving steel structures

  • Strong knowledge of budgeting, cost estimation, and construction scheduling

  • Knowledge of VOB (German Construction Contract Procedures)

  • Practical experience with iTWO software

  • German language proficiency sufficient for fluent professional communication – essential

  • Valid category B driving licence

  • Excellent organisational skills and the ability to coordinate multiple aspects of a project simultaneously

  • Ability to work independently, take initiative, and make decisions

  • Strong negotiation skills

  • Excellent communication and team management skills

Responsibilities

  • Managing and coordinating construction projects throughout their entire lifecycle, from tendering to project completion

  • Preparing project budgets, cost estimates, and schedules

  • Planning and allocating resources required for successful project delivery

  • Selecting, coordinating, and overseeing subcontractors and suppliers

  • Managing the project team and coordinating its activities

  • Maintaining ongoing communication and cooperation with clients, public authorities, design offices, and external partners

  • Overseeing contract execution, ensuring compliance with budgets, schedules, quality standards, and project milestones

  • Monitoring project performance and providing regular progress reports

  • Managing subcontractor and supplier payments and financial settlements

  • Participating in final project accounting and closeout activities
